Before choosing a reference

What matters for 4×6 ft?

The Compact reference uses a 4 × 6 ft enclosed coop, not a 4 × 6 ft total yard allocation. Outdoor space, the ramp approach and exterior service access need additional room.

The trade-off: The raised, exterior-service direction keeps the enclosure compact but does not offer interior standing access. Test cleaning reach before choosing it for a small yard.

Mark the enclosure, service approach and separate outdoor area on the actual site.
Check whether your tools can reach the interior from the service opening.
Review usable space and outdoor-access conditions for your birds, not just the flock label.

When to reconsider: Choose another direction if interior walk-in access is required or if the yard cannot accommodate the separate outdoor and care routes.
